Our Grove History

Amergin Aryson, a past Senior Druid, founded the 6th Night Grove in Dayton, Ohio, in January 1998, to make open Pagan worship accessible to all in Greater Dayton and the surrounding areas. We are a Provisionally Chartered Grove of ADF and recognized as a non-profit religious organization by the U.S. government.

Since our inception we have grown by leaps and bounds. Our members include men, women and children from many different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Our Grove’s ritual focus is an eclectic mix of the traditional beliefs of the ancient Celtic peoples, but many of our individual members follow other paths and traditions in their personal spirituality.

The name of our Grove was taken from a reference about the ancient Druids by the 1st century CE Roman historian, Pliny the Elder, "The Mistletoe…is gathered with due religious ceremony…on the 6th Night of the Moon…"
